Why does GoPro Quik for Windows randomly use the 2016-01-01 folder

Randomly when I USB connect my GoPro Hero 7 Black to my Windows 10 Desktop and then Import the latest captures, GoPro QUIK Version 2.7.0.945, will Import into a Folder named "2016-01-01", and NOT the curtrent Date.

What causes this behaviour?
