Why do my compressed files from Go Pro Plus give me the 0x8000ffff error code in Windows 10

Whenever, I compress and download files from Go Pro Plus, the file won't play and I get 0x8000ffff error code from Microsoft.  Downloaded uncompressed files play just fine.  Everything worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago and then all of a sudden they won't play.  Using Windows 10 and a Hero 7 Balck Camera, please help!

Re: Why do my compressed files from Go Pro Plus give me the 0x8000ffff error code in Windows 10

Hi @nolann6887,

This might be related to any security software you have.

Such as Antivirus or Anti Malware.

Try disabling them 1 by 1 then check if it will now work.

Check which one is causing the problem.

If issue persist please try to create new local account on your computer.

If that won't fox the problem please contact Microsoft Support they can help you with that specific error code.

Hi @nolann6887

Have you tried using other players?

The error code 0x8000ffff appears to be a Windows related error.

Please have your computer checked.

Thanks!
