Watching footage back on Quik isn't smooth and jumps

Hi, 

 

Just used my GoPro hero 5 for the first time and was so excited to see the footage. It played back on the GoPro app on my phone fine but when I uploaded it to my laptop and Quik the video just jumps every few seconds and it's just not useable. I'm assuming it's my laptop maybe graphics card but I have a Nivida card I  believe but not sure if Quik is running that or using it.

 

Please help!!!!

This has helped, the only solution I have found to work it to record at 1080p 30fps sadly. Must be my laptop.
