Re: I couldn´t have said it better myself

[ New ]

The only solution this time is 1 not to buy any go pro products anymore. 2 Actively discourage your friends / community to not buy the overhyped go pro products. I am so dissappointed in GoPro. The reddit post quite captures that. I asked for a refund on this but never heard anything from GoPro. Its so infuriating. After I bought it GoPro promised to fix it in short term, if I had known they were flat out lying,  I would have returned my product within two weeks and would have refunded this. OMG this company hates their customers.

I totally agree with you all. It's very sad and I feel cheated by GoPro Company. I bought this camera mainly because of the gps data and now I know that my chose was wrong :-(

Currently I'm waiting 40 minutes for live chat with customer support because camera won't turn on anymore :-(

Hey don’t worry guys, I’m sure come 16th September when the 9 is released everything will be fixed....
Will be interesting to see what features they advertise for the 9. Cause if they’re offering GPS overlays and fantastic wind suppression I’m gonna be all over every advert I see on social media telling everyone how terrible they’ve been with the 8!!

Couldn't care less what the 9 has, I won't ever be buying a GoPro product again, even if the competition isn't as good they've been entirely dishonest in the way they've handled this.

Un honte de la part de Gopro de ne pas respecter le client en fournissant le logiciel capable d'afficher les données GPS de la Hero 8 !!!

Indeed this is sad that a top notch company like GOPRO can't come up with a working app.

The H9 turned out to be more **bleep** than the H8 if you read the posts on the H9 forum. And the 5k is just a scam when the bitrate stays untouched and you get better footage from upscaling 4k footage from the H8?.

Of course they made it a different form factor so they could cash in more on accessories, and gave all the loyal current subscribers the finger by screwing us on the free year subscription. So much for the subscription giving you benefits.

Subscription is worth nothing anyway because you´re supposed to get customer care priority when in fact customer care is non existent. Unlimited cloud storage is useless when they discontinue the software for automatic backup, and download/upload speed to the cloud is a joke.

And what will happens to the **bleep** quality of the GoPro subscription now that they practically force in on every new customer? I can tell you that customer care priority gets even worse when everyone has priority. And download/upload speed for the cloud will suffer massively from the painfully slow speeds at already had.

Goodbye GoPro and hello Insta360!

you know the amount of memory it takes on my phone to be able to have the stickers it takes, my workflow right now is:

-Copy clip from gopro to phone ( takes 30 min to 40 min depending the size of the clip.

- add the stickers in the GoPro app( couple of seconds)

- save the file ( an hour or so)

- Send the file from my phone to my mac( another hour or more when it doesn't fail)

- add the video and work on the footage on the computer( vary)

- now render the video

this workaround takes not only a huge amount of space in my phone but even more time to do the same we did before in minutes!

please add a gopro app for desk that does this or fix the Quik app

This used to be my wokr around....

But now even the stickers aren't accessible in either the iPhone or iPad app :(

So frustrating!

Dear GoPro;

If you are not going to support a feature that shows up in your software and that you advertise you support (GPS) on your cameras you should just turn off that feature and stop saying your camera can do it.  I understand if you can’t but stop saying you can when you obviously can’t.

PS, how much of a cut do you get on the third party workaround?

Hi GoPro, or should I leave out the PRO? cause it seems that no professional company will ever provide 3rd party paid software as a workaround to show the GPS data. I don't want to pay $50 for some software to convert the gps data to be quik friendly...

Please let me know how do you plan to resolve this?!

Smiley Sad GoPro, get your act together.  I wonder if the CEO of GoPro actually knows about this issue or even cares.

I doubt this is being bubbled up to his level. This would seem like a no brainier for any CEO of a big company like GoPro. Deliver what you promised. Take care of your customers. Not happening in this case.

the fish rots from the head. they made their money so its a milk it till done attitude - same beef different gravy.

With their customer relations attitude i can't wait to see them burn at the stake and see a new action camera king show them how it should be done with a focus on QC, reliable product and most of all be aligned with their customers - all the reviews are propaganda brainwashing people with false expectations because the end result is a far cry from what you saw after alot of editing

I have the same issue. Looks like this issue is over a year old.  What is the process to see if this is added to the queue of enhancements for Quik app?
