I have the same issue. I am using a Surface book with an i7, 16GB of memory and ssd drive. What gives? This laptop is more than sufficiant to run the software but yet, I cannot even play back a video let alone edit one. What is the point of recording videos if you cannot edit them?
Has anyone figured this out? I have tried running the software with minimal resources running but have the same issue.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. For a more personalized support, you may reach out to our team at https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs as the issue maybe related to particular settings on your computer. Alternatively, you may explore other applications that can be used to view and edit your GoPro footage. You can learn more about such applications here.

I just returned the camera. I am not about to go pau $300 for software to edit my video after spending $400 already on the hardware when the software should work. I am looking into the DJI Osmo. Seems much more user friendly and a better camera for the price.

Second, Osmo Pocket sucks and it doesn't come with video editing software either, so you're right back in the same boat. Auto focus is a mess, face tracking hardly ever works consistently, no swappable battery, no waterproofing, no wifi connection, no voice commands, zero durability, way too narrow FOV, audio is inconsistent, no selective light metering, very few resolutions/frame rates, slow motion is a joke (more like 720p/120fps recorded without audio and automatically reduced to 29.97fps, connecting the phone is clunky and will most likely lead to damaging your phones charging port, gimbal gets lost when filming....
These are first hand accounts, not just something I'm saying without experience with it.

Seems like having an integrated and discrete graphics card in your computer makes Quik basically useless. I had the same problems but when I right clicked the app icon, clicked "Run with graphics processor" and selected "Integrated Graphics" and NOT "High-Performance NVIDIA Processor", then Quik was actually useable and did not freeze every 5 seconds. I dont know why the program does not work when there is a discrete and integrated graphics card

It s just so slow. Task manager says its using little mill or file transfer. It just goes to sleep on my wonder MC. You pay so much for a camera that you thought came with software that looks cool.
