I'm having what sounds like the same issue too.
Windows 10 PC
Only taking video clips from my Hero Session.
I can do step 1 just fine.
Seems like I can trim, cut, whatever the clips I have ok, then I can convert them just fine
It then prompts me to go to step 2
Now, my converted clips show up in a box to the Left Hand side of my screen.
And from what I know, I'm supposed to just drag clips down the bottom middle of the screen.
well. there's nothing there. Just a black box
It looks like I can drag stuff to that spot. But nothing pops.
send help please. I'm hainv to use iMovie, and as I don not have a MAC, only an iPad, you can imagine how much fun that isn't

I have the same problem but the only difference is that the videos are from a gopro session. I import the videos to step 1 but as soon as i go to step 2 it names the video as "(null)" and it doesn't allow me to drag it into the timeline. You guys have any idea what's wrong?

Me too. I can't drag any of my GP session clips to the place that says drag video here..
I'm finding GP SW in general sucks really bad. Amazing a video camera company like this can't make even a semi usable edit app. I have ridiculous amounts of trouble with this SW.
