I am about to blow my top with this **bleep** program. I had it installed and able to load at one point, but it would just stall when I tried to view or create videos through it. Now it wont even load.
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling it. I have updated Win 10, checked that the files play in Quicktime, edited them in the Win Video Editor app in Win 10. I have created a new administrator account and tested it, where it loaded but went back to stalling when opening Create or View. That led me to delete the file recommened in the GoPro folder in AppData. Nothing has worked.
The only reason I want to use this program is to imbed the speedometer and GPS track on videos since I use the cameras for my kids formula kart racing.
I managed to make a video with the gps features on my phone, but that really was miserable and I would prefer to have been able to do it on my computer with a real keyboard and large monitor.
Is there other software out there that can imbed the GPS data that actually works without a headache, or what will it take to get this to work?

You may try to right click on the app and run it with graphics processor.
If you don't have that option your may try to create a new local account on your computer and then open GoPro Quik.
You may also try to use racerender or dashware.

Thanks for the suggestion Jay, I'll look for that. I know the program will load with a different administrator account setup but it still seemed to hang up and not let me move the video around in the create screen, and I tried different compatibility settings to no avail as well. I don't remember seeing the graphics processor option when I right clicked on it, but I wsan't looking for it either so it may have been there.
I look up the other programs (yup... still old school, they're programs not apps LOL) you mentioned and see if they will behave for me.
I love the Hero 5 I won at a banquet, but can't stand this software for it. I never knew the GPS data was available until I clicked on random icons from the mobile device software either. Then I really wanted to use it and got mad!
I'll fight with it more tonight, thanks.

Got it @snowypeak6512,
Sometimes Windows Update or any driver update may cause App Issues.
But after creating new administrator account it should be fixed.
If it will work on your new account Microsoft Support might help you fixing that on your original account.

So I guess I am fighting two issues now, one that is won't load under my main account anymore, and the second being that if I do manage to get the program to start, it locks up and I can't do anything with it.
