Same issue for me - videos shot on a GoPro (which played fine in Studio) freeze after about 3 or 4 seconds in Quik. However the audio keeps playing even though the program is unresponsive. Downloaded and reinstalled from GoPro site this morning.
High end spec Windows 10 PC with all updates in place.

I'd need to know more about the computer you're using to be sure, but it sounds like what you're seeing might have to do with either the computer's drivers (either audio or graphics), as Create Mode uses both heavily and any problems with them can result in a crash. I'd make sure both are up to date, and I'd also reboot the computer for good measure. Also, are you seeing any kind of error message after the crash?
If you're unsure about how to do any of that, please reach out to the GoPro support team directly and they'll be happy to help you get this sorted out. Would you mind keeping us posted on your progress here as well?

It looks like what you're seeing is different from the problem the original poster is encountering, but I'd also ensure the audio and graphics drivers on your computer are all up to date. Windows Update doesn't always provide the latest software for those, so I'd check to see if the manufacturers of the hardware and drivers you are using offer any kind of update utility. Good examples of this are Nvidia's Geforce Experience software or Radeon's Catalyst software.
If the drivers aren't the problem, it's possible something is up with your files. Have you already tried playing them back outside of Quik to see if the same thing occurs? VLC is a good free media player program to test that with.

Somewhat disapointed that a responce like this took so long. However details are below. The computer is fairly new and running up to windows says all drivers are up to date (this was done prior to asking for help FYI) Lets also cover off some other issue to save us all time, yes the files work (my phone is able to handle and edit the vids). Its just in Windows that there is a issue. Also, none GoPro softwear has no issue dealing with the vids. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Tried a new download incase the first was damaged. Restated the machine multiple times and howled at the moon when it was full. So far nothing has worked and the same issue keeps occuring.
There is no error message (hense its lack of inclusion in the title) the programme stops responding and I have to exit the programme via the task manager. This has been left over night in this state in case processing is just taking a long time.
Any other suggestions?
