Quik app doesn't save video correctly

Please someone help me! I got a new HERO7 Silver and installed quik on my phone (Samsung galaxy J5 2016) and I choose the option save without sharing. Then I open my gallery and the video is completely black, only the music is playing. Sometimes it won't even save my video. What can I do about it?

GoPro is currently working on a new app that combines the GoPro app and the Quik app. Rumor is that they are also developing the apps to have their own video decoders so it is not reliant upon the phone.

Until then, you will need to find another app to edit your videos or limit the number of video clips to around 5 for your videos. Also, use RAW as the format as this requires less work for your device. You can also try making five short Quik videos and then make a new Quik video using those five Quik created videos.

Are these GoPro videos or files taken from your phone?

What are the resolution of the videos? 

Have you tries changing the video style?

 

Please make sure that your app is up to date.

These are GoPro HERO7 Silver 1080p 60 and 30fps files, and yes I have tried changing the style.

Hello @snowysand30582. Please make sure that you have the latest version of the Quik for mobile installed on your Samsung phone, and that the phone is running with the latest OS. To verify, the latest version for Quik is v.5.0.5. Are you able to play these videos on the phone through the GoPro App? Does the length and the number of video files added to (or opened in) Quik matter? 

 

We tested with a Samsung phone - created a Quik video from video files captured in 1080, 30fps using a HERO7 Silver camera but we are not able to replicate the problem. Try using a different phone and see if the issue clears out. Let us know what you find out. Thanks!

My phone is running on the latest OS version, and so is the Quik app (latest version). The GoPro app plays the videos without a problem. The length and number of videos doesnt matter, but when I only add photos to the app, it works great! I tried doing the same thing on a Huawei P10 and it works great, but what's wrong with my phone then?

Yes! I have the same problem with that weird stuttering effect, so the problem must be my phone's compatibility. But I don't want to buy a new phone because of this, so what can I do about it?
