Quik Uploads to Cloud Painfully Slow

Uploading media to the GoPro cloud using Quik is anything bit "quick", ironically.  I've tried the same upload a few times over the last two weeks.  Same results.  Using a dekstop with a 1 TB SSD, 16 GB RAM, gigabit Ethernet connection, with a 1GB ISP (Internet) connection.  Throughput tests are between 850 MB and 950 MB all day long.  In other words, there are no issues with hardware and communication.  This latency only takes place with Quik uploads to GoPro.

The same uploads took about 20 minutes to Google Drive and YouTube.  Uploading to Quik only saw sees a 9% progress after 2 1/2 hours.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Quik Uploads to Cloud Painfully Slow

Upload speeds can be slow, especially for larger files. I'm not sure how you're uploading, but there are two ways to do that from your desktop. You may have better speeds doing the other method. Here are the methods:

1. Select the location for the "Media Folder" from the Settings in Quick for Desktop. Any files in that folder will be uploaded to the cloud when Quik is started or those folders are scanned on demand.

2. Upload via the GoPro.com site by logging into your account, then clicking on your account icon in the top right of the page and going into My Media. Click on Add Media and drag and drop any files you want to upload.

I meant to include for reference... while attempting uploads, CPU is at 5% utilization, memory at 34%, disk at 2%, and network at 1%.

Re: Quik Uploads to Cloud Painfully Slow

I was using Quik.  I tried the second method you mentioned via a browser.  MUCH better.  Still only seeing 30-40 MB throughput to GoPro, but a lot better than the sluggish sub MB I was getting using Quik.  Thanks for suggesting the browser method.

I was considering using GoPro for sharing, etc., but have instead focused on using YouTube and Google Drive.  When uploading to those sources, I see thoughput in the 200-400 MB (sometimes higher) range.  Considereing the potential size of a HD/4K file, speed matters.
