I am trying to add gauges to a video, then save it so that I can edit it in Davinci Resolve, but Quik fails to complete the video.
- Hero7 Black (using current firmware version), transfer video files from camera to computer hard drive
- Open in Quik (v 126.96.36.1995)
- Double click video
- Click "Adjust Gauges" and add my gauge
- Click "Create a Clip"
- Leave resolution at what was recorded (1440 60) and click save
CPU, memory and GPU usage all go up, a new file is created and video is processing. Once it gets to ~75% complete, system load drops back to 0% and the progress bar doesn't move anymore. I even left my computer to process for 8-9 hours last night to see if it might finish up, but nothing changes. The file it created still showed the modified date/time as when it stopped processing and it always seems to fail at the same percent complete on the status bar.
I've tried this on two computers, both are Windows 10 x64 (one Pro, one Home) with all updates, Dell XPS 9560, i7-7700HQ, Nvidia 1050, 32 gigs of ram, 1 TB SSD (plenty of free space). Both machines behave exactly the same.
The only way that I've gotten this to work is to back the resoltion down to 720p 30, but the resolution isn't good enough. I've tried the select graphics card trick, but nether machine give me that option. I have also tried multiple different files, but they all behave the same way.
