Some months ago I've bought an hero 6 black and I started filming. After every session I used to do the backup on my computer to save my files. Recently, when I decided to do a footage with my clip I discovered that all my files that until the day before i thought were on the app was gone. I tried to search them everywhere in my computer but I did't find them. Can someone help me understand what I can do to find them? That videos and pictures were very important for me.

Same old story happend to me
I was able to se video files in quick but after some days they just disipered..
Hope GOPRO Support team will find solution with some free recovery tool becouse is to many memories been lost forever and it is they faulty Quick deleting files.
Hope it will be some solution soon or I will like many people never buy your product again

Was there any change that was done on your computers, say an update on OS perhaps?
Did you only notice the old files to be gone after you connected a camera to the computer, or have they been long gone?
Which version of Quik do you have? Is there ample storage space on your computers?
Try searching for the files following this file path C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Pictures\GoPro - Windows

There wasn't any substantial change on my computer and I noticed that the file wasn't there just when I've connected the camera.
I have a lot of storage on my computer. Quik version 22.214.171.1245
I tried to serch the files everywhere but I didn't find them.
Thanks for your help.
I hope we can find a way to solve this problem.

Are you using Windows?
Try to go to your Photos App.
Click refresh and check if you will see it there.
If you can now see it there, right click on the photo and choose open in file explorer.
