Thank you for the quick response. After restarting Quik and my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling, and creating a new username I was still prompted with the same message. Even before attempting to sign in the message is present (see below). But yes the email associated with my account is a Go Pro Plus account.

Yes I am able to log into gopro.com on this laptop/other devices but am yet to find the time to plug in via ethernet cable. I'm definitely connected to the internet though which leads me to believe its a privacy setting on my work laptop. Should be able to try on a friend's Mac desktop this weekend and I will try the ethernet cable then too.
Appreciate you taking the time to try to resolve this issue!

Not sure what happened but it's working now with no problems. I did have some other general questions though.
Once I see that my videos/pictures are uploaded to the cloud am I able to delete these from the actual go pro itself - as I keep getting low memory pop ups?
Is there any limit to the amount I can upload to the cloud?
I mistakenly downloaded a video from the cloud onto my phone so I was able to delete it to create space on the SD card - is there a way to get it to reupload to the cloud so I can delete it from my phone?
Lastly I see in a lot of editing videos that people are able to just cut/slice their videos to get the exact say 10 seconds here and 15 seconds there in order to stitch a bunch of clips from different videos together... when I use quik though it seems to only allow me to chose highlights which sometimes takes too little or much of the wrong footage. Wasn't sure if there was something I was missing.
Appreciate all the help!

Dear Go Pro.
I read a discussion of you with a customer. I wonder what is exact issue with Quik that I couldn't play 3K video smoothly with my brand new laoptop.

It can be a variety of issues, but typically they come down to processing issues on the playback system. To free up processing power, close other programs and play the videos from the files on the hard drive, not from the SD card.

Check out my solution for this:

This problem starts in the gopro because the camera in some files adds in the file wrong file description and that's why the gopro quick can not open it.
Hay muchas personas con el mismo problema parecido solo falta que lo solucionaran lo antes posible.
The quicktime throws this error :
error -2041: an invalid sample description was found
Probably there are programs that do not read this description and analyze the file before giving the case what the description says and they work well: as for example VLC, Windows Media player ... but there are many who die in the attempt: Quicktime, Quick gopro... because they use the same core.
It will only be necessary to repair it as soon as possible.
