Thanks for letting us know. We'll have this added to our reports about the issue. The team in charge is currently working on this. We'll get back to you on this thread for updates.

Note: this solution has worked for me but may not work for others.
Having been an avid GoPro user for many years (waxing lyrical to people about the versatility, usability and big punch in such a small package) I'm really glad to say that after months of this issue (Quik on MAC playing only audio and not video rendering the whole work flow completely useless). Here's what's fixed it for me. Happy to share screen shots etc if needed.
- Backed up all my GoPro video and photos to somewhere safe.
- Completely uninstalled GoPro Quik and other GoPro software; I used an uninstaller app to make sure I got all the deep files gone from my Mac.
- Placed the GoPro Hero 6 and all accessories on eBay and sold for a reasonable sell on value.
- Bought an Insta360 One with its flowstate work flow, free working software and amazing stabilization.
- Sat back and smiled at some epic edits.
- Logged into GoPro Forum to post the solution I've used.
As stated early on; this is a solution that has worked for me. I'd like to thank GoPro for putting up such a blocker to the usability of their camera, with out that blocker I would never have upgraded to the Insta360 One.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
(Whilst slightly in jest this is actually what I have done. I feel the feed back is warranted.)

Same issue...but your link has expired. Downloaded Quik the other day to my Mac (I've given up with the many issues between the PC and GP software trying to work seamlessly together). Transferred videos from my H3 to my MAC; automatic to Quik. Everything worked fine until the next day. Thumbnail in the media is viewable; but when I play; all I get is audio. If I extract a frame; I do get a picture. I took new video and what ends up in Quik is the same problem. If I send the video from Quik to Studio, works fine. Yes; I sent the Quik app to the trash and downloaded and installed again...same issue. I did not touch studio; there seems to be a lot of talk that it may not work with the latest update...and I just updated my Mac to 64 bit. What's funny (sarcastic); the GP site can't even decide which version of Studio is the latest; I look up for the answer, and it gives a lower number version than what I have on the Mac. Thankfully I save all my video in a separate folder for Quick Time; and I'm able to export it to Studio. Would like to use Quik; but it's turning out to be as much as a waste of time as running GoPro on my PC for the last few years prior to making a move to Mac. Appreciate any advice. In the end; it's borderline incompetence that GP rolled out it's devices years ago with one issue after another; and they seem to be relying on their customers to find solutions to the issues their own software people should be on top of.
