[ New ]Hello EJ - Can you clarify which website you are referring to in advising "..to check our website for more updates"? ... Is that the main GoPro website or this Support Hub? ... and if you are referring to the main website, how will we know that any new releases will address the issue with recent versions not working on Mac's (or at least some Mac's, like the one I have)?

Thanks for your respond. I would like to know, when its time to click the update button. For now, the older version of Quik and Studio work fine for me. (Ok Studio needs a fresh restart from time to time...but OK). I would be thanksful if you (or GoPro member) could possibly inform us on this plattform in case there is an update that works fine with Macintosh (my Macbook Pro is from 2015)..
It really nice that this forum informs people via email once there is a new post on our topic..

Apparently no solution other than rolling back to earlier versions of Quik (pre-2017 versions).

I have installed the latest Quik for desktop on my Macbook Pro (2015) on 16.05.2018.
And it works fine!
History:
in short words..
In Dez 17 my Quik for desktop out of a sudden faild to import new videos.
I did an update and the misery started. No Video in Playback.
I had the newest and updated versions in Feb, Mar, Apr,(2018) which never worked propely. I have tried to install it one time a month or so.
Even it was the same software release.. I just tried it over and over.
In between I found out that the older version (include GoPro Studio) worked fine for me.. (2.1.0.5429.dmg) Studio crashed / freezes sometimes, but OK. I liked that software.
Old Quik asked for updates and I ignored it. But I had Playback with VIDEO:)
Out of a sudden in may18 the import of videos failed again. Few days before it worked fine. Hard to understand for me...
So I decided to give it an ultimate and final try to update to the latest version. (I was planning to sell my Hero4 black if it wont work during the installation).. Before the installation I have deleted it completely include every library entry. Emptied the trash and restarted my Mac.
And TA DAAAA it works. Just fine. As if never ever there has been a problem... hard to understand for me. But OK.
I did a few Quik Videos.. and enjoyed my little camera. Thank you GoPro whatever you did.
I miss the Studio App, because I like the idea that the Editing Software comes from the same company ...But its OK .. iMovie works fine with the Video fragments of the HERO camera. Acceptable results.
Quik is a funny option and a good software idea.

A new version of Quik (version 2.6.1) was just released. Please make sure to install the update and let us know if it clears out the no video issue.
