Whow, nice, what gopro could not do in few years, some 3rd party software does easily... I'd still appreciate it having in quik or some better editing tool, as IE speeding up video with already included dashboards will not look that great I suppose :( But better than nothing, thanks :)

I have a different solution. Dashware does not seem to run well on a modern system and I could never get it to work with Hero7 videos. Of course you can add gauges to the chapter videos of a chaptered recording but then the tracks displayed will only show whatever is in that chapter and any totals will also only apply to the that chapter. And GoPro's Quick does not seem performant with longer combined video's.
However, Garmin has a wonderful free tool called VirbEdit with which you can add gauges from a GPX or FIT files. It works fine with GoPro videos.
To help with this I wrote a tool to extract a .GPX file from GoPro videos. It's a command line tool but if you specify one of the chapter videos it finds the related chapters and produces a single .GPX file that combines data from the chapters in order. Along with Garmin's free VirbEdit and ffmpeg to concat the video chapters, some really beautiful gauges and tracks can be produced for the *entire* recording.
The project is at
There are download links for Windows and Linux and instructions on the page. It requires the ability to work with command line tools.
