Lapotop dosent recognise GoPro Hero 7 Black

I'm aware that several people have asked this question before but I'm yet to find a solution. I have tried using my laptops USB-C and normal USB ports, both times it makes a noise and the gopro tells me its connected but no prompt shows up on the screen nor does Quik start running, and it does not appear in the 'this PC' section of documents. Whilst I am able to import files directly through removing the SD card and using an adapter, this is not ideal and I was wondering if theres anything I've missed  or am doing wrong.

The cables are fine, the ports work fine, I have tried updating my portable devices driver (via windows button + x shortcut) to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @cookie184875839

Check out Camera is Not Recognized on Quik for desktop - Windows

You can also try this: go to Device Manager> Find GoPro> Select "Disable" then "Enable".

Other users confirmed that using USB 3.1 and USB 3.0 works.

If you have a USB-C to Thunderbolt cable, it should also work.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Ej

Thanks mate. Turns out that using GoPro > usb-c > usb-a > laptop and GoPro > usb-c > usb-c > laptop didnt work (if that makes sense, not sure if they were 3.1 or whatever). Had to go through an adapter first, one that came with my laptop.

Hi @cookie184875839

Using an SD card adapter/reader is another option.

Thanks!
