Laggy/Choppy playback through Quik

I bought a Hero 5 Black a couple of weeks ago but I'm having serious problems with trying to edit videos in Quik. Playback is very choppy/laggy when played through Quik, but fine in any other video player. It makes it impossible to edit videos!

Granted I'm editing 4k timelapse and 2.7k video but I'm running an I5-3570K and an AMD R9-290 so I can't see hardware being a problem (plus any other video player is fine). I read in another post that right clicking and selecting "integrated video" may work but I don't have that option (plus it seems ridiculous unless there's a driver issue with Quik).

Anyone got any ideas as it's driving me insane!

Hi @snowyoasis41603

Here's a complete list of the Minimum System Requirements for Quik for Desktop.

You can also check this article: How to Correct Choppy or Broken Up Playback.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Re: Laggy/Choppy playback through Quik

Hi @aragon1006,

Thank you for your reply. I have now tried on 2 x PC's and a latop that all exceed the minimum system requirements and all have the same problem. Choppy/laggy playback through Quik but fine in another video player.

All video files are playing direct from the respective computer's harddrive rather than from the GoPro through USB and I have checked video drivers are up to date.
