Insane CPU usage by Go Pro Quik without doing anything
[ New ]Hi! I've just bought HERO 7 Black. Installed Quik to win10. I start quik, connect camera and I see the insanity captured in the attached screenshot. The program is doing absosutely nothing substantial, e.g. there is no any video to edit, capture or import, but it hits almost 100% cpu usage. All I wanted is to update the camera, because it has old firmware from the package, but Quik does not invite me to update the firmware. What is wront with Quik and why it usage almost 100% cpu for doing nothing?

[ New ]Deleted Quik, it is just dangerous trying to use it, it makes cpu run hot is if it is an overclocking stress testing utility. All drivers are up to date and there is no other software which would interfere with a gopro updater.

Re: Insane CPU usage by Go Pro Quik without doing anything
[ New ]Hello @pavelm1580. Making sure that your computer drivers are updated will help. In addition, avoid running other applications (if not needed) at the same time with Quik.
As for the update, we recommend doing it manually. The steps below will guide you through the process:
- Go to the Update page and choose your HERO7 camera.
- Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
- Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
- Click "Download Update."
- Click "Click here to download firmware."
- Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system.
Make sure that the camera is fully charged prior to the update. It is also important to format the SD card. Be sure to save all your files first before formatting the card. Let us know how it works out.
