Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]i'm trying to merge 3 videos but i got this error every time.
already used Dashware before with my hero5 videos, i made an upgrade to hero6 and the first video i tried do show gps data i got this error.
i'm running win10 pro with latest updates and Dashware 1.9.1
and then the merged file is successfully created, but instead of creating the GOPR0000_Merged.MP4.CSV, it makes a folder with 3 csv files (1 for each video):
(i tried to attach the files but it's not allowed)
i tried some old footage from my hero5 and it work fine.
i've tried to change the dataProfile Hero6GPMF.xml (placed in C:\Program Files\DashWare\DataTool\DataProfiles) from a file with the same name inside GoPro Quick folder... still no sucess.
does anyone has any idea of how to solve it?
Any hero6 black owner already got GPS data working well on dashware?

Re: Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]Unfortuneatly I think you are going to be disappointed. I have a Go Pro Hero 6 - used it extensively over a 10 day period using the (5 minute) Loop function and with GPS enabled. I havent used Dashware as I was fed up with touching any software owned by Go Pro, however, I use/am using Race Render 3 (which works well).
I have about a 25% success rate on uncorrupted GPS data in my video files. With Race Render its really easy to see the GPS data files that are OK and those that are not. Most of mine are corrupted and therefore the data is unusable. Along with a number of other "features" that I have found with my GP6 I am wondering whether Go Pro decided that testing their firmware before releasing it was an optional activity.
Stay stoked.

Re: Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]Thank you Neiste, at least now i know there isn't only me who think gopro softwares are a lame trash.
Quick is a mega joke, can't even merge files, only for basic/amauter users.
i liked Dashware so much, i have customized de gauges, replaced, reorder, create a new gauge for lap times (best lap, actual lap and Diff) and the main feature: i can export only the gauge layer in png sequence files and import at Sony Vegas as a vídeo. so i can work with multiple cameras MUCH MUCH MUCH easier.
Come on GoPro, make a respectful software.

[ New ]Hi there,
I've got exactly the same problem.
Does anyone have a solution?
Can't believe Quik has no functionality to merge files.

Re: Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]Please we need a update in dashware and/or in Quik! Right now this camera is not fit to record races along with telemetry for a long period. this is simply unacceptable.

Re: Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]Sorry for bring back an old topic, but someone got a solution to this?
i gave a time to see if somethings happens, a gopro update, a dashware update, or anything else....
i'm with dashware 1.9.1 which i checked on website and is the lastest version, gopro also up to date.
i decided to try again with a video recorded yesterday and.... FAIL again. omg why??? with my Hero 5 it worked so well, but i bought a hero 6 and now i'm unable to recorde a video longer than 8min with telemetry, what a shame!

Re: Hero6 Black fails on DashWare: "data extraction/merge failed."
[ New ]Like you I gave GP time for a new release of their software.... its been 7 months since the last Go Pro Hero 6 firmware update. Compare that to the continual updates for apps on your iPhone ....
No bug fixes .... nothing. They appear to only care about selling to new customers, not looking after existing customers who have to put up with their unstable and unreliable products.
You get a good idea of where this company is heading by having a look at their share price relative to the NASDAQ index... sideways at best....
My Go Pro Hero 6 is up for sale. With luck I might get a couple of bucks for it.
Stay stoked.
