GoPro Studio displays: Unable to play file. File may be corrupted or in an unsupported format

In STEP 1 I used to be able to play files but recently every file gives the following error:
"Unable to play file. File may be corrupted or in an unsupported format"

 

These files are directly from a Hero Session and used to play correctly in Go Pro Studio.

 

I can play the mp4 files in Windows Media Player, Quicktime and VLC without problem.

 

I have installed the latest version of Quicktime

 

I have updated the graphics driver for my graphics card

 

I have renamed C:\Users\sean9\AppData\Local\GoPro\goproapp.json

 

I have run Go Pro Studio in compatibility mode,

Re: GoPro Studio displays: Unable to play file. File may be corrupted or in an unsupported format

I started a new project in the GoPro studio and these videos played. I suspect GoPro Studio saved an incorrect setting into the original projects gcs file but I don't know enough about the format of these file to spot the setting.
