Fusion studio does not recognise imported video files, only recognise those on SD card in device!

[ Edited ]

I imported front and back video files and 360 photo files by connecting the device to my mac.  Works fine.  I can see the files sitting in my hard drive.

Problem is, without connecting the device to my mac, when I open the app, the app only recognise camera files in my hard drive, and does not recognise video files in my hard drive.  Anyone has similar issue?

This means I'm capped at the capacity I have on my SD cards! and have to connect the device all the time whenever I want to edit videos.  This is crazy....

Please...someone please help.  I'm about to head off to Antarctica and will be shooting a lot of videos......

Thanks a lot!

Re: Fusion studio does not recognise imported video files, only recognise those on SD card in device

I have never used Fusion Studio to import files from the camera. I always manually copy/paste the files under the DCIM folder in the 2 memory cards. When you connect the camera to your computer- you will see both cards separately. Just copy anything over- they can all be put in the same folder on your computer. No need to separate front/back. My

Then I run Fusion Studio and add media from the folder I copied the files over to.

Re: Fusion studio does not recognise imported video files, only recognise those on SD card in device

Let me clarify:

1) I opened GoPro Fusion desktop, connected my camera, hit browse camera media.  Software started downloading video and photo files and generate previews.  I can also see the files being stored in my hard drive. All seems fine.  I can preview, and so far, I have rendered a short video and one photo.  Then I disconnected my camera from my mac.

2) I open GoPro Fusion desktop again, without connecting the camera.  I go to "add media", chose the top level folder, which holds all the back and front video files and photo files.  The software only gives me all the photo files but NO video files for preview.

This means:

1) I need to connect the camera to my laptop in order to see or render video files.

2) I can't delete video files on my SD cards until I fix this.....(fear of not able to recover any video files even though I can see the files sitting in my hard drive but I can't access them....)

Help. Thanks!
