Fusion Studio 1.2 - always crashing on OSX

[ Edited ]

Hi,

No matter the settings combination, Fusion Studio always crashes after a random couple of minutes (one in average).
Does anyone have the .dmg of Fusion Studio 1.1? I never had this problem, I considered myself a lucky one because this never happened and judging by all the videos I've watched on Youtube about rendering the footage, etc, app crashing is something common, unfortunately. But now, I can't render a single one. Only photos.

I copy the folders to my HDD/SSD and then import the media.
Any clue?

Thanks for your time.

Ok so I've tested with:

MacOS Version: 10.12.6

Model: MacBook Pro (Retina 13-inch, Early 2015)

Processor: Intel Core i5 2.7Ghz

Memory: 16Gb 1867MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6100 1536Mb

SSD disc

And it works. My Mac needs more juice Smiley LOL

What do you think it makes the difference in Fusion Studio, GPU or Memory?

Thanks.

Hi @gow7

Kindly check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements listed here.

Also have you tried saving the files to your local folder and go through the import process? How to Import Media into the GoPro Fusion Studio App

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Ej

Hello @aragon1006 and thanks for your reply.

My computer system specs:

MacOS Version: 10.13.latest

Model: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Processor: Intel Core i7 2.9Ghz

Memory: 8Gb 1600MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024Mb

SSD disc

I admit that my computer may be in the minimum viable threshold, but until now I was able to redender a lot of Fusion Videos without crashing even once.

Regarding importing media, I always copy the DCIM folder (with back and front folders inside) to my SDD and then "add media" in Fusion Studio. It works because I'm able to see all the videos and photos. As stated above, photo rendering always work.

I could give it a try with another Mac and see how it goes:

MacOS Version: 10.12.6

Model: MacBook Pro (Retina 13-inch, Early 2015)

Processor: Intel Core i5 2.7Ghz

Memory: 16Gb 1867MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6100 1536Mb

SSD disc

Do you think this specs will make a difference?
Thanks.

Re: Fusion Studio 1.2 - always crashing on OSX

Hi @aragon1006

I remembered what I have changed since last time when everything was working. I bought my Fusion recently and I was doing some tests with it in 3K 60fps, but never in 5.2K 30fps. Last week I was on vacation and I've changed to 5,2K, all my videos are in that setting.
Today I ran a few tests and I guess this is the answer. With 3K I can render videos with full stabilization, with 3K quality, even with Spotify app streaming and directly from Fusion cam (without copying to my SSD). If I try to render a 5.2K video only with Fusion Studio opened (and from SSD), it crashes.

Probably this means I need a better computer to render 5.2K right? But, if I choose to render a 5.2K in 2K shouldn't render successfully?

Thanks.

ps: my Mac can render 4k 30fps and 60fps videos in Adobe Premiere (using proxys when editing)
