Kindly try these steps:
1 Open Quik for desktop
2 While on the login screen, select the “Help” tab above the Quik for desktop window
3 Select “Restart with default settings”
4 A modal will appear saying “Are you sure?“. Click “Restart” once more.
5 Quik for desktop will close and reopen. Quik for desktop will appear as if you installed it for the first time.
6 Go to the login screen and input your credentials. You should then be able to login successfully
Let us know how it goes,

I have the same problem of a lot of people here. I just can't loggin to my account. I already performed the "restore default parameter" (available in the menu on the first window of "GoPro Quik") as mentionned below but no effect.
I also created a new account but nothing better.
I also checked in my library and i have no "application support" files to delete (i always use "appcleaner" to delete the application i didn't want)
I also checked my internet connexion (ethernet, wifi, with and without proxy) but nothing ...
I precise that my "GoPro" account still works because i can loggin from GoPro website. I have a 2018 IMac 5k with i7 processor with macOS High Sierra but I don't think the problem is from my computer.
I must upgrade my karma grip to connect my GoPro 6 camera and i have today no solution to do it.
Please help me ...... Please ....

Have you been able to check or try out the steps recommended on this thread? If you have and you are still not to able to login to Quik, it would be best to get in touch with our Support team so they can walk you through further troubleshooting steps. I already tried to change and resend confirmation mail but it's not working. I'm sure it's a "host problem" but I don't know how to solve the problem. You will find enclosed my terminal host configuration.
For the second part, sorry but I don't understand the tuto in below (the problem is already complicated but following a tuto in english for a french person, it's more difficult) :
On a Mac, follow these steps:
- Click GO in finder (where ? in the Go Pro Quik software main windows ? in the mac OS spotlight ? in the mac os terminal ?) and GO TO FOLDER
- Then you will type /private/etc/hosts then press Go
- Copy the host file on your Desktop.
- Click open the "host" file and put in 127.0.0.1 localhost at the location below. Save the File, then put it BACK in the same folder it will ask you to replace it.
- Relaunch Quik for Desktop.
