I got back from a trip with about 70GB of GoPro content, and have been trying to sync with GoPro cloud for the past 2 days. I quickly realized I had to change the computer power settings to stop going to sleep, because the upload speed is ridiculously slow. I could have uploaded everything to YouTube 100 times over by now, but with Quik--which keeps crashing whenever the Windows lock screen comes up--it's only completed about 14GB in 48 hours.
When I search for help, it seems like perhaps everybody has trouble. If there's somebody out there that this works for...what's the secret? At this rate, my month-long GoPro Plus trial won't be enough to upload just a couple hours of content.
Sorry for any troubles caused.
How are you trying to upload to Plus?
Please note that chaptered files are best imported through Quik for desktop or via auto-upload(camera).
As Plus uploads take some time, you may also consider other cloud service if you need the files immediately.
I am uploading via the Quik for Windows app. (If it's not automatic for me, there is no point over alternatives.) I seem to have "solved" half of the problem. By opening a web brower and auto-playing non-stop youtube videos, I can keep my computer active and Quik doesn't close. The upload has continued for the past 11 hours uninterrupted.
The second half of the problem is the speed. Uninterrupted it is uploading at about 1GB per hour. That's about 0.2% of my internet bandwidth.
@megatree36155, I mostly just start up Quik and let it run during the night when I want it to upload to the GoPro Plus cloud. I would recommend when uploading files bigger than 4GB to try to use a wired connection. The upload speed and whether or not that file will upload will be based off of your network.
The amount of time necessary to upload your footage is dependent on a number of factors, namely your network speed and amount of content. Uploading large size of contents may take time to complete.
