Desktop app upload is still insanely slow - how can this get fixed?

I was trying to upload a weekends worth of videos from my house, but after a few hours it was at 2%. So I went into my corporate office (which is currently empty and has CRAZY bandwidth).

Guess what, after 2.5 hours, I'm all the way to 25% of 60 Gigs.

As a comparison, I uploaded 20 gigis to Google cloud photos in about 20 minutes from the office.

What's going on?

My task manegr network tab shows barely any usage.

Help?

Re: Desktop app upload is still insanely slow - how can this get fixed?

Hi @divezen,

Upload speeds can be slow, especially for larger files.

Try to prioritize the large files or upload them by batch.

You may manually upload those large files by visiting this website: https://plus.gopro.com/

then the smaller files will be uploaded automatically by Quik for Desktop.

Re: Desktop app upload is still insanely slow - how can this get fixed?

Thanks for the reply, but WHY is the app so slow?

If I can drag them into a browser and it's fast... why even offer "auto" upload from the app. Just tell me to use the website...

Is there a reason the app is slow? If so, can it be hacked/fixed/remedied?

Assuming I do what you suggested and manually upload ~10 larger vids.... is the upload logic on the PC smart enough to de-dup, or will it hang and forever try to upload those larger videos agian during the "auto upload"?

Thanks
