So, as many people around, I recently got a GoPro7 and just started exploring the capabilities of the software apps.
I first installed the GoPro App for Android and connected it with the camera. Everything works just fine - I can use my phone as a remote control and start/stop recordings, change settings AND delete videos from the camera without actually touching it.
Fast forward to a couple of days later and quite a few videos made, I want to have a look at them on a normal screen and sort them out a bit. I installed Quick for desktop and am looking forward to trying some edits. I love the function where it can automatically start upon connecting the devices and automatically download anything new on the camera. I loved it even more when I saw how it organised everything by date and lets me see videos with highlights. Helps a lot with finding the videos I need.
I look over a couple of videos and delete the "unsuccessful" takes (no need to take space) through Quick. The "media" tab AND the folder to which I import videos automatically now contain only the good/useful takes. However, upon disconnecting and reconnecting the camera, the files get copied again. I know there is an option to delete content from the camera after it gets imported, but I don't want to delete all of it (just the bad/unusable files), since it's easier to show people what i've captured when I'm on the go and have the camera with me. I have plenty of space on the card to keep the cool takes, but there's no need to save the junk too.
After a whole day of filming, it's easier to evaluate resultd on a nice big desktop screen (not on the small camera display). Is there a way to do this management directly from the Quick app (or any other?), where I can watch the video and being able to delete it simultaneously from the Media import section AS WELL AS from the camera (and not take forever to search the SD card to find which one exactly i need to get rid of and risk accidentally deleting the wrong file).
Essentially, I'm looking for the functionality of the mobile GoPro app, where I can browse the camera library from my computer in an efficient way. Is this achievable? If yes - how? If no - will it be any time soon?

Quik automatically copies all files on the SD card once you select IMPORT FILES.
That being said, files deleted from Quik(program) will still be copied once you connect the camera/insert the SD card to import files again.
My suggestion is to use an SD adapter instead.
Browse your files through FIle Explorer or File Finder first and choose the ones you'd like to keep/delete.
Or you can copy the folder to your computer first before selecting the files.
Once done you can then add the folder to Media in Quik. See: How to Add Media Folders in Quik for desktop
I hope this helps.
