New 2019 Macbook pro, and GoPro MAX
Is there a tutorial for the GoPro player for Mac?
I CANNOT import any 360 videos on the Macbook. When the MAX is connected, Quick only sees MP4s.
When opening GoPro player, it asks to choose file from library, obviously no 360 videos are there since I cannot import them.
Also, when editing non 360 videos with the GoPro Player, the ONLY OPTION is to trim and grab photo. No stickers for GPS etc. data.
What am I doing wrong? How do I import 360 MAX videos and reframe on Catalina 10.15.1?

GoPro Quik for Mac does not recognize the new video format for the Max. GoPro Player is not designed to import the videos from the Max only get them files already on your Mac.
So...
You have to remove the SD card, mount it and copy the files to your computer, then you can use GoPro Player to convert them to reframed HEVC/H.264/Prores "flat" videos (but only 1080p)
OR
With no editing in GoPro Player (you can trim without affecting the format), you File/Export to equirectangular 360 footage and then use other software to edit eg Premier Pro. For Premier Pro, you will need the GoPro plugins...the older VR ones, if you working with PP 2020 cause the newer FX plugins from GoPro do not work in PP 2020, they only work in PP 2019!
So lots of updating needed from GoPro, its workable for now but we all waiting for improvements to software and camera firmware!

Thank you for the reply. Pretty much confirming what I assumed.
Indeed a lot of work needed by GoPro. And I wish the cameras could be read as usb mass storage devices, so no need for SD readers.

You can install "android file transfer" (free from google) and the the full content of a direct connected max will be shown and accessible (no need to relocate microSD-cards to an external reader.
but this is only the first step in many superannoying problems currently prohibiting any kind of professional use of the max .
So I can only recommend think twice before using the max , and ceck for the workflow, or you will come back from a shooting and recognize that you might have beautiful clips/movies , but you are not able under any circumstances to edit them !?
Mine is now back on the shelf... i reactivated the way more reliable fusion for the next month until another company maybe releases a better option (it will not be goprpo anymore ... the risk loosing jobs and customers is much to high, and the behaviour of the company gopro is unacceptable for us)

I'm not a pro user by any means, but I completely agree with you. It just blows my mind that a new device was released with absolutely no support by gopro. For whatever's sake, I have to only edit on a mobile device? I guess GoPros research shows no late 40 or 50 year olds with shortsighted eyes use their cameras... LOL
What if someone does not wanna have the latest and greatest phone? Still, editing on a phone screen is not my type of fun. Neither is an iPad, and I have both. Unbelievable I cannot use a brand new MacBook or a PC, for what it was made for.
