After updating my camera to the latest firmware I cannot edit my footage anymore in GoPro Quick.
Somehow it is now HEVC encoded. Something the camera did not do before when shooting
in 2.7K. Then Quick tells me that my computer is not compattible. Strange, since I checked
the requirements and it ticks all the boxes. Now I can use several other programs but those
do not allow me to use any of the recorded data or hilights which is a big disadvantage.

Try adjusting the frame rate in your 2.7K video from 60fps to 30fps.
Also realize two other things.
1: Windows 10 update (fall creator) removed HEVC support, you'll need to pay $0.99 for the codec, or use VLC player. You can also use a freeware program such as Handbrake to convert your H.265 footage to H.264 (which you can then edit).
2: GoPro QUIK for Windows doesn't support HEVC video. So even with the codec installed, you still won't be able to use Quik to edit these files.
