BRAND NEW HERO 7 BLACK WONT IMPORT OR EVEN BE RECOGNISED BY QUIK

HI there, hoping somehere can hurt as the support instructions are useless.

 

I've got a new hero 7, i've just come back from a skiing holiday and want to create a montage video and go to upoad my data, and nothing is happening. I plug the go pro in, it immediatwly goes black and says USB connected, and then you cany do anything with it. 

 

NOW ON QUIK IT STATES AND IM QUOTING>>> 

 

1. Plug camera into computer.

2. Turn the camera on.

3. Select import files when 'PROMPTED'

 

Now i'm not an idiot, it just goes black with the 'USB CONNECTED' screen as soon as i turn it on and there is no PROMPTING of any kind to import any media.

 

I've tried it in different USB ports, and on a different laptop and it still wont give me any chance to import anything.

 

WHY???!!!

 

Please help.

Are you getting "No files to import" on Quik?

 

Please refer to:

Camera is Not Recognized on Quik for desktop - Windows

 

You may also try importing via SD adapter.

Hi Ej, Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately i'm not getting any message, just the 'USB CONNECTED' message on the GoPro... Quik doesn't do anything?

Thanks for the update, @keelant47711. It sounds like a communication problem between the computer and your camera. Have you already gone through the suggested troubleshooting steps on the articles provided? 

 

You can also try using an SD card adapter / reader to verify if Quik for Desktop will be able to recognize the SD card.
