More room to comment on my own question. Have to copy the card and then move to pictures and view with the Apple viewer. Trying to get support from GoPro is like speaking to Martians. They are useless and the senior support are more than useless. Never had problems with older versions of the GoPro, but the Hero 6 has been a disaster to get the media onto my computer to view and edit. Any solutions from earthlings?

I am sorry if you feel this way. Here are the steps when importing files from an SD card.
- Insert the Micro SD card into the adapter and insert the adapter into your computer.
- Open a new Finder window. Your SD card will be on the left sidebar under the "devices" section.
- Double-click on your SD card, and you should see two folders: DCIM and MISC.
- Now double-click on the DCIM folder. In that, you'll see a folder named 100GOPRO. (Note - if you took more than 9999 pictures or videos, you'll see 101GOPRO, 102GOPRO, 103GOPRO, etc. folders).
- From there you can drag & drop the files from your SD card to your computer.
Let us know if this works for you.

There are a few ways to import that content on to your computer. I would give these steps a try:

Thanks Ryan; the problem is the software supplied by GoPro starts to transfer the files, but most show up with a black box and a question mark in the center. The import usually stops and says it couldn't import some of the files. The GoPro is brand new 6 and the SD cards (two different ones) are SanDisc 32 Gb card, also new. Have had to use awkward work-arounds to get most of the media onto the computer, but the app just doesn't work right and support is clueless about what is going on and how to fix it. Had to send them screen shots of the black boxes without content, as if they never saw this before.

Hi Sandman you can remove the MicroSD card and use the Memory USB adapter to plugin onto your MacBook USB port to see if the QUIK app launch, if the app launch just transfer your files over your Macbook Pro than format your MicroSD card from your Mac and reinsert back to your GP Hero6 to see what happen.

This is ridiculous. Macbook Pro and GoPro is incompatible. I cannot get it to do anything. Had no problems with PC and USB. Now it is impossible. I guess GoPro's are no longer useable?
