why are my videos HEVC?

My videos play back all choppy on my new computer and my Iphone. The first video I took works fine but every following one is choppy and HEVC?

Re: why are my videos HEVC?

HEVC is a video compression tool that allows for higher resolution and higher frame rate videos to be stored on your SD card. More info on HEVC is at https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/hevc.

Choppy playback is often due to a limitation of the computer itself. Some computers simply can't process the high-data videos fast enough to show them smoothly. You can try down-converting the videos to lower standards. There's info in the link above on how to do that.
