what camera & battery [ New ]

the camera I have only says HERO on it...NO numbers I am trying to find the CORRECT battery for it as I have 2 that I ordered that do NOT work in camera

That's for HERO8. 

Try this. 

Download and install new camera firmware on your camera manually. 

https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/How-to-Update-GoPro-Cameras

Visit that website then make sure to follow manual firmware update instruction.

the  front of this camera is gray, the reat of the body is black, if this helps

It will help if you can share a picture of the camera.

You can also identify the model using the first 3-4 digits of the camera's serial number.

Looks like you have a HERO 2018.

HERO5, 6 and 7 Black's battery should work.

WHAT would these batteries be for ?? They will NOT turn cvamera on...wrong ones I assume
