water in gopro

Every time i use my gopro hero 5 inside water, it seems that there is a place where water is coming inside it. I checked it many times and made sure that it is properly closed. But the problem still existed and water is still coming inside it. Today, after i came out of the sea i noticed another problem. The camera was in an indoor area, with room temperature however for some reason the battery became overheated until I removed it from the camera.

What can be done to solve this problem?

Re: water in gopro

Hello @quickmesa37000

Thank you for the details that you provided. Do you see any indication of water actually getting in to the camera? Does the camera still work correctly? It is not uncommon for the camera (or battery) to warm up especially when used. You can read more on this here.

It would be best to check for any indication of water intrusion. It would help as well to test the camera through usage with different resolutions, for example, to see if the observed overheating is an isolated case, or a frequent occurrence.

Should you have other questions or concerns, feel free to post back. Alternatively, you can also reach out to our Support team here https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs for assistance with any possible hardware-related issue.

Thanks,
Marius

Re: water in gopro

Hi @mariustanya,

Thanks for answering my question. The problem and the most worrying thing though is that i found a few droplets of water on the battery of the camera and the little screen on the front seemed to be a little wet from the inside.

I also just noticed that when i put it to charge it is not charging and it doesn't turn on.

Re: water in gopro

I see, @quickmesa37000. Then it would be best to get in touch with our Support team. The camera should not have any water in its internal parts. Thanks!
