temperature extremes for the hero5

I am hoping to video an outdoor wedding and the temps are expected to be -5.
What can I expect from the camera other than a reduced life of the battery?  Will its performance be different with a lower resolution setting?

Re: temperature extremes for the hero5

Hey @toughriver47834,

The performance should not change with the temperature. The battery life will most likely be shorter, but if you keep the camera on your person (in your pocket) while not recording you can save quite a bit of battery life.

When I use my camera skiing I make sure to keep the camera as warm as possible when not in use. Once you are done recording make sure to turn he camera off.

Cheers,

Ryan

When you have been using it for skiing - roughly how long have you found a battery lasts? Say for example at 1080p?

Re: temperature extremes for the hero5

@iainl065,

I would say depending on how often I am using the camera throughout the day between 1:30 to 2:00 hours.

It will also depend on what settings you have on like Stabilization and GPS.

Best,

Ryan
