I am having several problems with my GoPro 4 SIlver.
The camera is overheating both in and out of the casing. I have read this may be to do with the reslution I'm shooting in (1920x1440) but I would point out this never happened with a previous model.
Also the camera just locks up or freezes. Sometimes it will simply not swich on despite adequate battery life. The only remedy to waken it is to remove and replace the battery.
I am using the correct cables, SD cards etc...
Help would be appreciated. I got this at Christmas but am only now using it for work. The last model I had was very dependable and I am therefore very disappointed this version is proving to be the oppsite.
Thanks in anticipation..................

Sorry to hear about this trouble. What SD card are you using in the camera? I'd make sure to try one of these recommended cards and you could also try running a manual firmware update on the camera with the link HERE.
Sometimes if the card is incompatible it can cause a freeze up or for a less than smooth writing process while filming which may explain if the camera is heating up some. Please do note that the camera will heat up some while filming, though it shouldn't get too hot to touch.

Having issue with the camera overheating after a few minutes of filming on 1080k indoor with AC on! The film will start to turn purple in color with white and purple color halo distortion around light source and darker background. I updated the the firmware, no use. And don't think it's a SD card problem because the distorsion is there seen on LCD screen even without the SD card on. I'm disappointed.

Are you seeing any overheating warning on the camera or is it just getting warm? It might not actually be overheating but rather have a different problem. Can you post an example of how the footage looks?

I had a similar problem with my Hero 4 Silver, and worked with Spport for 1 month. They came to the conclusion that it was a hardware issue, but let me know that my camera is not under warranty. They asked me to send my camera back to them, and in return they would give me 20% off a new camera.
I asked if they could guarantee a new camera would work, and they couldn't, so I'm going to see what other products are on the market.
I loved my GoPro when it was working, but we're paying a premium for GoPro over the Chinese brands, we should get products that work, or products that are supported.
