Hello @carolg06383. What do you have instead of the menu? Is there any error message? If you have not done it yet, try manually updating your camera following the steps below: 

  1. Go to the Update page and choose your HERO7 camera.
  2. Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
  3. Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
  4. Click "Download Update."
  5. Click "Click here to download firmware."
  6. Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system.

Make sure that the camera is fully charged and that you are using a recommended SD card like one on this list.  Let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Most likely the user is utilizing Quick Capture and powering the camera on with the top shutter button instead of the mode/power button located on the side of the camera.

Turn the camera on using the side Mode/power button. If you are not getting any display, you will need to contact the GoPro Support Team.

The camera shows up on my iPhone so there is no problem with the pairing.  The screen on the camera shows:  Language:  English,

Legal Stuff:  :Agree", Regulatory, GPS-on,  GoPro App.

 

The instructions on the iPhone says to swipe down but nothing happens when I swipe down on the touch screen.  I have swiped in all directions but the menu does not change.

 

Thanks for your time....maybe this is an issue for support.

So you're just missing the Connection and prefrence what happs when you swipe up you get Meada and to the side  the photo..  yes Customer support. they will  walk you again to manually update the firmware that may or may not resolve  damaged  internal memory good luck

I am paired with my iPhone.  The touch screen shows gps, language, GoPro icon with the camera view showing,legal stuff, GoPro app.

When I swipe down ( swipe in any direction) on the screen nothing happens.  On my I phone it says to swipe down and I keep trying to but nothing happens.

 

Is there a trick or something to swiping?

I called support and she assisted me in updating correctly.
