Asalways we luv guessing..
If he set to factory rest the Audio playback would be the Norm. If he or she viewed from a driver then he or she may have a puter issue, so I wonder what info we need to ask in order to know more?

To be clear, you are not getting audio playback when watching your videos on your computer?
If it's just during playback on the camera, try swiping up while the video is set to play. The volume bar will come up. Confirm that it is turned up and not muted.
If you are not getting audio in videos played back on your computer, upload to YouTube or Vimeo to verify its not your computer. If not, be sure you are using one of these SD cards https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations
Try a different card from the list to verify the issue isn't coming from your card.
On your computer, format the SD card and download/extract the manual update. https://gopro.com/update/hero5
Place the UPDATE folder (not UPDATE.Zip) on the SD card and install on your camera.
If that doesn't work, contact the GoPro Support Team https://gopro.com/help/PKBContactus

Do not apply any pressure to where the speaker lies that is where the rubber membrain really takes a lot of the sound away. But I get to gopro. work with them to get you one that works. good luck..
Google Puter and you will see it is a short cut for Computer. so what Daniel said is not so right Lol

How about, "Puter" is a 1990's informal, rarely used, outdated, and unnecessary shortening of the word Computer. Also known as, "Fish's way of saying computer".
