Hello @sexwm123. The HERO9 Black is waterproof down to 10m (33ft) without housing. Users with the need to dive deeper can utilize the Protective Housing, enabling the use of your camera as deep as 196ft (60m).

As for the GoPro MAX, it is waterproof down to 16ft (5m). There's currently no GoPro housing available for MAX.

!!!be abolutely warned !!!

the max is NOT WATERPROOF!!!! read all the numerous threads where people only dipped their max into a few inches of water , and after a few minutes their display went black and the camera was drowned.
Then the support will tell you that damage caused by any contact with water is not covered by waranty and you have to oay 99.- (for a plus subscription an 45.- for a handling fee , to get the camera replaced ......

that is why the previous answer was "political" ... you have to use a underwaterhousing (why , if the cam itself is waterproof an has special underwater lenses delivered with your package ... think abaout it)

Although the GoPro Max is waterproof, it is not designed to be an underwater camera.  This is due to the fact that due to light diffraction, curved lenses (such as those found on the max) do not work well underwater and will result in blurred, badly stitched footage.  To create proper 360 degree footage, you need to use a bubble dome with the GoPro Max to provide an airgap to stop light diffraction from interfering with your image.
