1. call GoPro.com/contactus my gopro reps number is 800 -635-3578, I press #4
2 have all records, Bill of sale, photo, email story together
3. rep will either offer an Option, get back in 24-48 hours, or RMA you in an email within a few minutes while on thephone or chat. confirm you got it and done.
4 you have 5 Business days to get it post stamped and out by the carrier they given you., you take only and ONLY the camera and protect it, ship back you keep the battery, the cable , the sd card, the frame etc. etc. if you send those back you do not get them back. you get a tracking number and keep for your records within 5 days if a USA Region the camera ships to Riverside cal takes about 5 days from the East coast the pkg is shipped by FedEx Ground.
5 camera received, goes thhrough gopro's processing, takes about 5 days and gets sent back out same way FedEx Ground. no emails are sent, you may get one but no emails really sent.
6 camera is either signature request, and in a brown container box. carefully open and that is laid in a slot formed like hte camera, they may suprize you with a free battery as there is a slot for it., it is protected by plastick film so carefully peal away, inspect and if any troubles use the refrence number given to call, chat . You warranty is good from the ORIGINAL sale date so if you bought this gopro Oct 2018 you have until Oct 2019 not the day you recieved your replacement a Year later, unless you have a overseas warranty (2 years) or a plus package you pay for.
and that is how this warranty works Been there, done it you can continue t oget replacements as long as in warranty.
