hero silver 7 stuck on usb connected

Brand new hero 7 is stuck on USB connected, I have tried reformatting the SD card and I am unable to factory reset the device.

It is completely unresponsive.

Please help asap!

Re: hero silver 7 stuck on usb connected

If you have not done it yet, try a manual update on the camera's firmware. Please see the steps below for guide:

  1. Go to the Update page and choose your HERO7 camera.
  2. Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
  3. Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
  4. Click "Download Update."
  5. Click "Click here to download firmware."
  6. Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system.

Make sure that the camera has enough charge (would be safe to charge the camera again as it may have lost some) and that the SD card is formatted prior to the update. Let us know how it  goes. Thanks!

Re: hero silver 7 stuck on usb connected

Does pressing and holding the power (Mode) button for 8-10 seconds do anything?

Re: hero silver 7 stuck on usb connected

Neither the power or shutter button are responsive.

I have held both down for 10 seconds with no response.
