hero session will not enter pairing mode

I've been trying to connect my GoPro to the mobile app f0r some time now and nothing seems to work. I've tried resetting the camera, resetting the Wi-Fi, and manually updating the camera. It still will not enter pairing mode and has never been connected to my device so having the device "forget" the camera won't work either.

If the Wi-Fi name is not being picked up at all, we need to run a manual software update. Instructions are listed after the serial number and the email address page.

 

Once completed try to go over the pairing process again. If the camera wont connect on the first try after the update is completed, you may need to forget the Bluetooth ID/ Wi-Fi name.

Thank you for trying those troubleshooting steps. What kind of phone are you pairing the camera with? Have you tried to pair it with a different phone?

 

While the camera's connection is ON, kindly check your phone's Wi-Fi settings. Does it pick up the Wi-Fi name at least?

Hi Ej,

I’m using an iPhone 8 to try and connect and I have tried to use an iPhone 7 as well. The phones done pickup the cameras Wi-Fi at all.

Hi Ej,

 

I've run the camera update and when I connect the camera to my computer the app says that the camera software is up to date. I'm not able to forget the bluetooth or wifi on my device since i havent had a successful pairing yet. When on the "select wifi control" screen, pressing the shutter does not allow the device to "enter pairing mode" and ive tried just about everything...
