hero 8 rebooting multiple times at power on [ New ]

Hi,

My sometimes reboots several times when i switch it on before settling on the ready to record screen but with an error where the SD card record duration is usually displayed.

pull the batter and then turn back on and all is fine.

Any ideas - anyone else getting anything like this

Hi @roycruse

Try removing the SD card out then turn the camera ON and see it behaves the same.

What SD card are you using?

You may also try running a manual update.

Hi, Im using Sandisk Extreme 128GB card.

The SD card showing an error is a red herring and only happened once

however my camera still boots multiple times about half the time i turn it on - trhe other half it starts as normal.

I cought it on video booting over and over before finally showing the on screen buttons and being ready to record.

is anyone else getting trhis ? - where do i get gopro support from ?

Try this.

Reformat your SD card: https://gopro.com/help/articles/solutions_troubleshooting/SD-Card-Reformat-on-a-Mac-Computer
Update Camera manually and after that check if your camera is still having the same problem.

I have formatted the SD card many times before so dont think its that.

Ive updated the firmware manually by copying the unzipped UPDATE folder onto the card anmd booting the camera.

It hasnt done the boot loop thing for the last 10 startups but ill do some more testing over the weekend and let you know.
