gpr and jpeg files

Hello..can someone explain me why the gpr RAW files are smaller than jpeg on gopro hero 7 black??

The GoPro raw files is basically Adobe DNG with CineForm compression.

 

You can download the Adobe DNG converter and transform the GPR files into DNG.

If i get the DNG program the raw files that converte to dng would be larger?? I am a beginner with gopro thats why i ask for help.now my gpr files are about 3.5Mp and seams very small for a camera worth so much and can capture 12M.

If you convert from GPR to DNG format the files will no longer be compressed and thus much bigger (13 - 15 MB).

 

If your chosen picture editor can open GPR files there is really no beed to convert to DNG first, but a lot of programs does not suppoprt GPR files directly and thus an extra conversion step to DNG is necessary.
