Yes it happens with "the Promic" and not QUick capture only and hte camera only.

Based on the video (the second link), the QuikCapture function works (camera powers on and records right away) when the mic was removed from the setup. Could it be an issue with the microphone? Have you tried using a different microphone?

two other company mics do the same thing so does that rule out the mic it sure does. goes back to the promic
Could you tell us why the Promic is the cause? Love to hear?>
In the mean time do we say again Rephraine from using quick capture?

Thanks for the video, @fishycomics. To clarify, the camera itself (without the Pro Mic, without the mic) works in terms of the QuikCapture function, right? And this is with firmware v 1.80.
Apologies for the confusion, we were not saying that the microphones were defective. As shown on your video, the QuikCapture function works even with the Promic and the external mic attached to the camera. It works in the sense that even with the Promic and the mic connected, the camera recorded after being powered on. This is observed with both of the microphones that you have used.
The Pro Mic adapter does not hold a charge so it is not able to supply power to non-powered microphones. This is further discussed here: External Microphone Information with the Pro 3.5mm Mic Adaptor .
