go pro hero 5 touch screen

The touch screen doesn't appear to be working properly. When I switch it on it comes on but remains dark with no information to operate it. I had used it the night before to download some video and wonder if something caused the screen to go blank then. Maybe the sd card?

@stoutflame2286 - It could be the SD card. If the card is removed, does the camera power up and work properly? If not, then I'd recommend trying a manual update on the camera's firmware. Instructions on how to do that can be found at https://gopro.com/update/hero5

Thanks for reply. Yeah I removed the card re powered it up and the screen still remains the same as before. I have also tried the firmware update but I have windows 10 and the manual update was illustrated in another version of windows? Still nonetheless it appeared to update I repowered it up but unfortunately it still appears to be the same? Help!

I got a GoPro hero 5 black and the screen has not been working ever since the first use. I have had the camera for two days now and still can't fix the issue. Please help.

Hello, I do have same problem. Everything was ok, and suddenly today, when I start the gopro to check before going out with Karma Drone, the touch screen keep black.. I did a re-installation of the firmware, I do reinintialisation process and it's keep same. As it is a saturday I won't be able to join the support. As I need it to a festival where I should do an official video, how can I have help please.

just bought hero5, after several review from its feature the screen totally black and cant even take pictures and vid, however the light is still beeping wen I on and Off the unit
