fusion studio not importing footage

OK I finally figured out transferring from one-folder front and back files but today I thought ok let’s see if the camera will connect and yes it does but it has been over an hour at 90% with a message saying never disconnect. How do I safely disconnect?  So I went away for an hour and on my return Fusion Studio had quit. Nothing is in the folders. Is there an update yet??

Success! Just waiting a week seemed to do the trick becasue they must have updated Fusion Studio. I downloaded it to my descktop mac connected the camera and hey presto it worked! Well sort of. It seemed to only transfer photos but did create preview videos into the edit page. After I edited and adjusted my footage I put in the render list but couldn't render ... then I remembered the advice about other software importing media - sure enough my old version of GoPro Studio was interfering and trying to import.

After dealing with that I was able to render - it took almost 24 hours (I had a lot of footage I wanted at high rez)

So a few bugs to go but otherwise I am starting to love this camera.

I'm having the same issues that you, and many customers, are encountering. Maybe there is a better alternative to this software, and I'm very receptive to suggestions. 

 

My PC has been recognizing the camera, up until last week. Now I cannot pull the footage off the camera.

I went into the camera, dragged and dropped both front and back cameras. Cannot stitch Front and rear camera footage together.

 

What is the return window for this camera? I cannot justify keeping it when the PC software is complete garbage and the mobile app is a "freeware" version of what I need to accomplish.

 

I hope the folks at GoPro realize this is a "make or break" scenario for their Company. Many have speculated the time and money GoPro has invested into developing this product has painted GoPro into a corner when it comes to the future of the company.

 

I know that putting the software staff on overtime before the holidays may help put a little extra cash in employees pockets, GoPro need to "put the spurs" to whomever the Team leader is for the Fusion Camera. 

 

If I have any success, I'll be sure to post it here.

I may be having the same issue.  When I connect my Fusion to the USB port on my computer I used to be able to power on the camera and select Browse Camera Media from the Fusion Studio menu to see the footage I have on the camera.  Now Fusion Studio says connecting and then goes back to the initial get started page after a few minutes, never connecting to the camera.  How do I resolve this issue?

We have seen this issue happen where the computer is set to try to import the content from the camera using another tool, like Photos, first. This can happen even if you cancel the import pop-up from the other program.

 

One thing to try is when that pop-up from the other program appears, select the "never for this device" (or similar) option. You should also be able to go into that program while the Fusion is connected and turn off the importer for the Fusion from there as well.

 

Doing this should eliminate the conflict and allow you to import directly from the camera into Fusion Studio. In the meantime, you can also import directly from the SD cards using an SD card adapter.

Thanks Jeff, I do not see any pop-up windows.  I've tried rebooting my workstation, connecting the camera to a different USB port, changing the USB cable, and removing the battery from the camera and reinserting it.  Nothing has helped.  I was able to import the footage direclty from the SD cards, but I am encountering an error which I have started another thread on.

I’m in the process of returning this camera to GoPro. I can’t justify an $700 inoperable camera.

It’s really quite sad that guys have begun selling defective cameras for the Holidays.

 

I’ve had the window pop-up with suggested actions, I’ve set it to take no action when the camera is attached. Fusion Studio launches automatically, and cannot pull the info off the camera.

 

I’ve attempted dozens of times to import from the actual memory cards, and the footage WILL NOT LOAD INTO THE SOFTWARE for rendering!!!!

 

CANNOT STITCH FRONT AND BACK CAMERA FOOTAGE.

Hey @toughstar7803,

 

There was a hotfix update released yesterday to address importing issues when the camera was connected directly. I'd suggest downloading/installing the update and trying again to see if that resolves issues for you.
