Hello, @grayriver7470. The HERO8 Black maximum resolution is 12MP (4000x3000). There is an 8MP default resolution, depending on the photo mode chosen. Check out this article for more details on photo resolution and settings.

Gopro Trademark is Fisheye.  Wide FOV would be the default choice using  the fullest of the sensor. when modifying to Super-view its being Minipulated, as well Linear, Narrow and zoom.    that said  4K4:3 wide oldstyle shooting, today 4K24/30 wide good luck.
