I've done this and I found the best method is to plug 1 usb cable into the WiFi BacPac. This will enable charging of the WiFi Backpac and camera. If you plug into the camera the WiFi BacPac may not charge.

Thanks for your reply, so you have kept both your Hero 2 and WiFi BacPac on charge simultaniously for an extended period of time, while both are in use, without damage to either .. is that correct. ?
Also, re your suggestion, according to the manual, the WiFi BacPac draws power from the Hero 2, not the other way around, and only when the Bac Pac battery is depleted .. ?
But you are correct, charging the camera does NOT charge the BacPac.

The backpac has it's own battery inside, so it prioritizes the use of the bacpac battery over the Hero 2 usuage. However the serial bus interface allows for a power pass thru when charging.
I used to use the Hero 2 as a dashcam and would also use the bacpac for framing, so then I'd just plug in the power directly into the backpac as the skeleton case I had didn't allow access to the hero 2 ports.
