bursting

Never heard of this b4 I took videos under water but found 300 images not a video and they told me it was bursting but I didn’t have it on this setting. I ended up resetting my hero 7 black back to factory settings. Can anyone give me any hints cheers

Re: bursting

Was Quik Capture Enabled? Was the camera bare or used in the Super Suit?

While the camera is waterproof to 10 meters, the water pressure can sometimes press down on the buttons. If this is the case, then time lapse photo (one photo every 0.5 seconds) could have been engaged.

Another possibility is you had accidentally put the camera into burst mode so every time you pressed the record button the camera took a burst photo shoot. Even if you had initially put the camera into video recording, a press on the side Mode button would have changed it over to Burst/Photo Mode.

Also, if the rear LCD wasn't locked, then it's possible water (if the camera was outside of the Super Suit) or the rear door (if it was in the Super Suit) applied enough of pressure on the LCD to make the camera mistakenly interpret it as a touch to change modes.

When using the camera in/around water, it's always best to lock the rear LCD. Check the settings every now and then to make sure you are in the correct mode/shooting preferences. The front LCD is a good place to look.
